Changdeokgung (99 Yulgok-ro, Waryong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul) — Changdeokgung, also known as Changdeokgung Palace or Changdeok Palace, is set within a large park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is one of the “Five Grand Palaces” built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Kings and their ministers discussed state affairs at Changdeokgung Palace and residence of the royal family. It was built in 1405 by King Taejong, the third ruler of Joseon and the first palace to be rebuilt in 1610 after the Japanese invasion in 1592.

Admission: 3,000 Won (adult), 1,500 Won (children ages 7-18 years), free for seniors, children under 7 years, and residents wearing traditional Korean clothes (hanbok). Hours (daily): 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (Feb.-May, Sept. Oct.), 9:00 am – 6:30 pm (June-August), 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (Nov. – Jan.). Closed on Mondays.
